Join the PAC!

We had one of our most successful years and this was due to the support of our PAC. This is a group of dedicated and talented people who are committed to the SHFC. Some of our members are coming to the end of their term and we need new members for the committee. This is a great opportunity to volunteer your time and support the SHFC. It’s rewarding. It’s fun. You will make a difference.

What are you waiting for? Please consider joining the PAC.

If you are interested in joining the PAC or would like more information please email the PAC at shfcpac@gmail.com or attend the next meeting on Tuesday, May 9th at 7:15pm at SHFC. Thank you!

Come and Play!

The South Hadley Family Center offers drop-in playgroups four mornings a week (September-May) for parents, caregivers, and children birth to five.  For children, the playgroups provide the opportunity to learn and master social skills during free play with peers and caregivers, and to participate in craft activities, snack, and circle time.  For parents and caregivers, the Family Center playgroups offer a fun, educational environment for children and serves as a source of information, resources, and mutual support.  Parents and caregivers value contact with other adults who understand what it is like to spend many hours weekly with young children.

A typical schedule at SHFC:

9:30-10:45 Free play! Build a block tower, cook in the play kitchen, explore the sensory table or do an art project. There are so many fun things to do!

10:45- Snack Time! Pretzel sticks and water are served. If you’d prefer to bring your own healthy snack that’s fine to do. Just please no nuts. (donations of pretzel sticks are always appreciated)

11:15-11:30 Clean up and Closing Circle! Sing some songs and listen to a great story

Each month literacy and developmental specialists are available during Center hours. As well as visits from local preschool teachers, musicians, and other special guests. Please check the monthly calendar to see when they plan to visit.
